Cause it's actually worth over $1000.00.

Considering you don't have to trade in your stock throttle body, which is over $650.00 from the dealership.

Pros: Overall better response, more horsepower up top
Cons: All I can think of is cost.

Any independent dyno results? Cost/horse?

I have it, but installed the Technosquare reflashed ECU at the same time. Gains with this are really going to depend on your other mods. I wanted it because I now have CAI, Plenum, Cams, Headers, HF Cats, Dual exhaust and ECU. I am also waiting for some better flowing heads or for someone to figure out how to port and polish the existing ones properly.

Any chance you had a dyno of the reflash + TB? I would really like to see or hear about this one.

On a side note, a new set of heads aren't going to happen unless 1 of 3 things happen. Of course, this is my opinion...

1) You use the Nismo heads, they flow a lot better but will require some other valvetrain work. Possible.

2) Nissan somehow makes a set of heads for an even higher output version of the VQ like GM did for the Corvette LS1-LS6. Thereby spending thousands of dollars to make better flow on a small displacement engine to get 10 horsepower. Unlikely, even for the GTR.

3) This VQ stays around for 20, 30, or 40 years and becomes a classic like the Chevy SB or BB. Thereby prompting companies to mass produce aftermarket heads. Unlikely as well.

Personally, once the money tree sprouts in my backyard, I will be choosing option 1.

Less. You will never see the gains with a throttle body that you will with an intake manifold/plenum.

Maybe not new, but there will be efforts made to make the stock heads flow much better than they already do and when that time comes, I will be ready!!
