comparing a 2.0 liter incredibly high revving 4 cylinder to our V6 is about as apples to oranges as you can get. Compression and RPM's are the primary reasons the new K20 pumps out what it does.

id rather have a 2zz than a k20, too bad no one supports the 2zzge in the aftermarket.

The VQ35DE is probably one of the most reliable engines currently in production. Nissan has spent years perfecting this engine which is why it is seen in almost all of Nissans line of car. Doing N/A mods to the car will shorten its life span but youll probably of sold the car by the time it breaks.

I wish parts where cheaper to. The Z is still a fairly new car to the market and hopefully within another year or 2 prices for parts will drop a bit. However dont hold your breath.

I understand you are biased here becuase you own a celica. But the K20 is far superior in almost every aspect than the 2ZZ. What is your reasoning for this statement?

just swap your engine to JGTC GT300 Z enigne. It's NA, got 400 hp and plenty of torque too.

Yun, I think you'll find the S1 only revs to a 7200rpm and it makes its peak power of 300 bhp at 6400 rpm.

Second para on the s1... "with the engine's redline extended from 6600 to 7200 rpm."

So if you can make your Zed rev to 8000rpm reliably, with enough air & fuel and move the peak power to 7950rpm then you will have a powerful Zed.

I know why the k20 has that level of horsepower, and I'm not really comparing the k20 to the VQ directly. What I'm saying is that the k20 has a lot of upside potential for its size. One such example of this potential that I have come across is a 320whp and 201lbs heavily modded one. I'n not comparing the 320whp to the VQ, what I'm saying is that, with a lot of heavy internal modding a k20 can be modded so much that it seems that if someone heavily modded the internals of the VQ 400+ hp should be possible without any increase in displacement. I think it's possible...if anyone wants to fund my testing i'll prove it to you...
