Put together a rear end for me. Nismo diff @ 60%, Nismo heat soak cover, and the 350Evo FD. Can't wait... hopefully there is a chance I'll be able to get this installed before my next track event on 8/13.

Will it fit?

Yes, although you will be going from a 3.5 to a 3.9.

Changing your final drive will change the ratio at which you accelerate through the gears. The OEM M/T FD is ~3.7, this one is 3.917, which will help you accelerate faster. Some more info here:

How difficult is it to install? Do you have to drop the entire rear end? How will this affect the RPM's at higher speeds? Will it raise the RPM 200-300??
Thanks

hey dwnshift, John's right. Maybe you could put together a package price with Nismo LSD and heatsink cover on an exchange basis for the stock unit. Good or bad idea?

It is recomended that you have a proper shop do the installation.
Its the best bang for the buck in accelaration you can get.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't 1st gear with FI already really short? If you want to improve your quarter mile times then you might even want to drop down to 3.2s so that you are shifting less..Some FI guys were talking about this in the earlier 350EVO 3.9 threads.

I think he was already planning on doing this. They would put together a "pumpkin", send it to you, and all you have to do to is swap the rear end and send it back to them.

Thumbs up

Update:

I called 350Evo today, but BJ was out today to recover from a long weekend of racing the Grand Am Cup 350Z and the Rolex GT3 Cup car.

According to the individual I spoke with, they will be doing a final quality assurance check by installing one on BJ's car tomrrow, and they should be sending out the ring & pinions / pumpkin packages by the end of the week.
