How was it applied? It makes sense to use some sort of sealant on the pipes before fitting them together to be clamped.

What is this product exactly and where can I get it?

Has anyone had weld job done that permits the muffler to be removed like this one: http://www.afterhoursautomotive.com/...wCars-G35.html

This may sound stupid, but how do you know if you have leaks? Is it an audible issue or do you notice a decrease in performance? My Borla has been on for about 2 months now and it kicks azz. Should I check it at a particular point to make sure there are no leaks and, further, how do I determine if there are any?

Slight leaks can be noted by "carbon tracking" around the joints.
This appears as a litle black film around those joints. These type of minor leaks hurt nothing and can seldom be heard.

You could also try Exhaust pipe adhesive.

mine has a leak and you can hear it loud and clear...if you cant hear anything just check all the joints to see if there is black deposits around it

if there is, then you have a leak

...had the exhaust leaks on my Borla sealed up today. The joints forward and between the H pipe was where the major leaks were. The mechanic welded these points and tightened the clamps elsewhere.
It's amazing how these small leaks affects how the engine runs. Mechanically, it's quieter and runs a bit smoother; I now hear more exhaust sound and less mechanical noise. Even the Pop Charger is louder than before.

If you have exhaust leaks, get it sealed up.

why would you have to cut the joints to remove the exhaust. I was just underneath the car and it looked to me like all you had to do was take of the black triangular body tie off of the rear, remove the exhaust from the rubber hangers and then it would just drop down.
