i searched for info before posting assuming somone else has had the squeeking clutch pedal while engaging/disengaging the clutch. but found no info, im not sure exactly where the squeek is coming from but its getting louder with time & embarassing none the less as it can be heard from outside the car at idling stops! anyone have this problem and find a fix? im really looking for more than a temporary WD-40 spray can fix unless of course this is the only action that fixes the squeeks.......

my clutch pedal squeaks as well, but it's coming from inside the cabin... joints probably just need some greasing

are you sure this can be heard from the outside? if so, i'd take the car to nissan for analysis

 

I have this problem too, and I can hear it inside and outside my G.

 

I just bought a 1999 BMW M Roadster that has the exact same problem (squeeky clutch - and it's LOUD). I have been researching it, and apparently, it's a well-known problem with lots of the BMWs. The cause is a plastic bushing located on the pedal arm that starts to wear and compress.

Two fixes:
#1 (Quick & Temporary) WD40 the offending bushing on the pedal arm.
#2 (Permanent) buy new bushing for about $20 and install.

I wonder if the same fixes will work for the 350Z...

Mine is very loud in the cabin of the car, not as noticeable outside but deffinately audible...drives me nuts.....guess ill WD-40 for the time being

i don't get a squeek, but more of a creeking noise from the pedal area... hard to explain, are you guys getting the same thing?

 

I brought my car in for a squeking clutch pedal and they replaced the transmission!!!! Apparently, it may be more than just a squeking pedal, I reccommend bringing it in asap

 

Ann Taylor Infiniti in Augusta, Georgia told me the rattle in my transmission was normal. The squeak/creeking just appeared recently.

 

You will be able to tell if it is a really loud creak/squeak comming from the pedal arm. You can poke your head down in the foot well and press the pedal to verify.

I did the bushing swap on the BMW and it solved the probelm completely. It cost about $20 and two hours of time to remove the pedal arm and put it back together with the better bushings.

I had a squeek with my clutch pedal when I pushed it all the way to the floor. When i took it in for normal service, I mentioned it to them. They said that there wasn't anything wrong, and even said that some of the other cars have the same problem. They put some greese down there anyway, and it has relieved the problem. So next time you take your car in for service, see if they can apply some greese. WD-40 seems like it's a little too thin to work longterm.

 

Anyone have a picture of the bushing on the car?

 

Save the WD-40 for loosening stuck bolts and displacing water...use a lithium based grease and it will last much longer.
