That is mainly for the other style of rod bolts. In most cases the rod journal needs to be resized if new bolts are installed. But with this style of bolts I don't see why this step can't be skipped. The journal shape, positioning shouldn't change.

What about the valve springs, I would worry about the need to change them before the trip to 7500 rpm

There are people revving stock, heavier, VQ30 valvetrains higher than that. They have the same valvesprings we have.

How's the cryo'd rods working out? I heard that cryo treating the rods are really expensive and not really worth it, is it really the case?

The stock rods and ARP rod bolts are holding up just fine for over a week now. I have smacked the 7500rpm rev limiter dozens of times since I got my L-Spec ECU with no problems whatsoever. Right now I shift at about 7200 for powerband reasons but I hope to extend the power peak from 6250 to 7250 with alot more tweaks to make complete use of my new rev limiter.

how long/hard was the install? I have come to understand that everything on 350z is cramped, hard access and a pain in the *** to work on, lol.

SR20DEN, any updates? I have to thank you as I am proceeding same/similar route with my VQ. Real eye opener, made NA worthwhile for me.

trolls abound on the board, do not mind those.

To just change just the rod bolts can it be done under a lift without taking the engine out? Or is it too hard to access

It only takes a couple of hours to do in the Maxima. I can't say for sure on the 350Z because I don't remember what the K member looks like.

How's the maxima running? Have you tuned it past 6600 yet? What rpm are you producing those numbers at?

hey SR20DEN, what kind of cams are you using/planning on using to get the 7250 power peak if you don't mind me asking? Is it going to be custom grind?

will you be going to the maxima meet in Harrisburg? I guess it's a long stretch for you but hey, I'm thinking about going. I'm a little more than an hour away.
