Driveline lash
My Z seems to be suffering from more driveline lash than it used to. It's entirely possible that I'm simply paying more attention to it now than I did when I first got the car, but it sure seems to be worse now. Enough so that it's really bugging me, and can make driving slowly in 1st gear quite difficult to keep smooth.
Are there any known soft points or potentially weak mounts that might've torn? I haven't taken it into the shop to have anything looked at yet. Wanted to post here first to see if there are any known common culprits in the Z.

My buddy works at an auto shop here in town, so I'm going to meet up with him one of these days and we're going to go through all the mounts. See if we can't find the serious weak points... or if *all* the mounts are weak. Anyone know if there are some good aftermarket engine mount replacements available for the 350Z? Nothing solid, of course, just something a bit beefier than the (potentially) soft factory pieces.

Yeah mini shock absorber, you can find them on ebay for like $68. Or there are some big buck ones which look awesome, but probably peform the same the ebay special. My shifter used to flop around so much that I had to do something about it. Plus the torque damper reduces wheel hop because the motor no longer twists the drivetrain as much.
Here's the stillen one available at Performance for $115.
Sorry, I could not find the reference to the stiffer engine mounts. I'm not sure they are needed if you use the torque damper. I haven't given my driveline a single thought since I put it on. I can't believe we got water filled engine mounts, what a bunch of horsesh*t.
You might try these guys, they have made custom mounts for Nissans in the past.

You guys could try out a Guibo that BMW uses. http://e30m3performance.com/installs/installs-2/guibo/
Otherwise look into canning the crappy dual mass flywheel. They seem to wear out too quickly and become loose. Mine now allows the pressure plate to hit the bellhousing.

I'd like more info on the stillen one, can't find anything on their webiste.

hmm..might have to finally try to reinstall the one 5 Zigen gave me!
We tried a few months ago, but the way they design their bracket, it would not clear the dampener adjustment **** on my coilvers. I recently saw a customers install, and he bolted his damper to his JIC strut brace...wonder if that would be ok?

Adam,
It's still working with no problems. Just be carefull when adjusting the length beacuse you can over adjust and the driver side headers will start rubbing against the steering column during right turns.
