I was told its better to use synthetic oil when you have FI. anybody know about this?

 

Yes, please do. I use motul and just love it

 

I use Royal Purple. Very Happy.

 

so why is synthetic better for FI

 

better oxidation resistance of the base stock, even if a bargain group III syn.

Also better innate viscosity index ( ability to act as multi vis w/o polymeric index imrpovers) which means less (or none even) viscosity index improvers, when these oxidze then you get varnish.

plus they take up "space" in the formulation that could be used by more anti-wear, anti-rust , anti foaming etc additives.

I allways get my dealer to change my oil can I just tell them I want synthetic this time?
