Are you saying you're having tranny or clutch problems? What is a tsn#?

I have a 03 built 10/02 so I'm VERY interested in what your talking about.

Thanks.

PS BTW, I have no tranny probs at all.

This is interesting, I just started having this problem when the temperature dropped. But I have 43k miles and didn't have the problem last year. I'm curious if it is the clutch or the tranny too? From the noise it sounds like the clutch, it only happens when the clutch is pressed half way on a cold start.

Also, when you say you're hearing a 'clutch' sound, what do you mean? Are you grinding?

Mmm. I hear a *clunk* sound when I put mine back into 1st after coming to a complete stop or slowing down significantly and re-setting into the correct gear. Sorry to thread-hijack, but has anybody else had that problem? I'm a bit worried.....

Thanks!

Don't here clunk, but is difficult to shift into first gear right after you stop or slowing down secondary to revs being to high.

I recommend stopping completely, waiting until revs come down, then shift into 1, otherwise just shift into second.

i have 2003 model and replaced the tran last week under warranty. I had the same problem: hard to shift on 1st gear. I told the dealer that there's something wrong with my clutch and trans. Then, they test my car for a day and found the problem not sure what it is though~anywayz they replaced the old trans to brand new!! and the clutch set and the clutch pedal and resting pedal~ all in warranty.
But! Still didn't get any service for my recalled front tires!!! they keep saying it's all back-order nationally...(for 8 months...Jesus!!!)

been waiting close to 3 months now for my front tires... lol

changed rims and tires in the meanwhile. When the tires get here, I'll put the old rims back.

Sad thing, is that I was told that after 22K miles or something, you need to pay a fee.
I'm getting close to 20K miles now..

Yeah, IIRC it's over 20,000 that you're then expected to kick in some $ according to the TSB. But, that should count from the time you reported it to your dealer, not when the service is actually done I would think. Don't let them charge you, that's for sure!

ok sorry i just read the whole thread and i'm confused... what is the tranny problem you guys are experiencing?

is it a rough shift into first?
is it a grind into 3rd or 6th?
is a clutch rattle?
is it a problem getting the car into gear?
