DIY plenum porting
NICE man! I am so close to being done, I can taste it! Literally....there are aluminum dust particles on my tongue hahaha sike
But on a serious note, I would probably never do this again. It takes so much time and is so messy, etc etc. Even if I was getting paid, I probably wouldn't do it. The lower runners have definitely been the easiest part. I may flash and polish the lowers that come out when I do the swap and then try to sell it. But we'll see.

pfregeolle and cide! nice plenums. after seeing how yours turned out i would definitely pay someone to do this mod. seems like a tough job but for a decent gain in hp and acceleration looks like it's worth it.
I am going about it a different way this time. I am not only grinding the front one. I will be grinding them all down to matching sizes. There is a good chance i will be able to do a dyno run with my previous style (the one currently on the car) and one with the one I am currently working on. (matched runners). Keeping my fingers crossed.
Finaly finished it couple of weeks ago. Put it on that night. Runs awesome. Cant tell if its much faster but it deff feels alot smoother and more eager at high gear. Did not get a chance to do before and after dyno's but will dyno my car soon just to see how its running. I am very interested in seeing how my air fuel ratio is.

my old version and the new.

my old version and the new.
starting my project , casting clean up and smooth, lower front runner as low as i can. not sure if i will try to gasket match, this is my first time doing this. im an hour into it. 2in 100 grit discs, i will need 1 in disc to do the trays where the MR1 MR2 letters and numbers are.
This isn't that big of a deal with an angle grinder and sanding discs. Just use several grits, don't go crazy, and a little trick to make the disc last longer: sand a stick of wax for a quick second, just enough to get a thin layer of wax on the disc. Thiss will make the discs last longer. Little trick the pros use.
AWESOME DISCOVERY: an amazing way to clean the plenums of dirt and oil is to use AIRPLANE PAINT STRIPPER. Spray or brush it on, wait a minute or two, and rinse. No scrubbing at all. Comes out looking better than new.
I've used various grades or degreasers, detergents, brake cleaner, gasoline, acetone, paint thinner, engine degreaser, even steam clean. AIRPLANE PAINT STRIPPER hands down is the easiest, fastest, product to use with the best results possible
