I may be showing my ignorance, but how does a "true" dual system come into one muffler?

 

It is true dual because it comes back in 2 completely pipes, no Y pipes involved. The muffler design is also seperate inside, the chambers are seperated in a dual design as well. It is essentially 2 mufflers inside of one case.
