Default Texas Motor Speedway - running the Roval at night

This past August I ventured back to Texas Motor Speedway to run a DE with www.TheDriversEdge.net . I ran this event last year and had a blast and had to attend again. Last year it was postponed till the fall after the summer date was rained out, so this year my top speeds suffered slightly due to the hotter ambient temps. I didn't take or purchase any pics this event, but here is one I bought last year and a link to some from the regular track photographer.

Hi Res HERE

We run the Roval configuration using both the infield and the oval. They add a cone chicane between the start/finish line and Nascar Turn 1 to limit our speeds and that's where the glowing rotors picturess came from.
I ran with the Red run group, which happens to be the fastest group of cars. I was running with some pretty sweet 911's (one was a full blown cup car), M3's, Z3/4's and vette's (one was a world challenge car) to name a few.
My buddy Steve brought his silver 350Z but unfortunately he had a hub failure in the first or second session and we never got the chance to run together like I was hoping for. He's been running his Spec Miata all year so I wanted to see how we compared. Another reminder for everyone that tracks regularly to inspect your hubs. I will be replacing mine soon as preventative maintenance

I ran on the RA1's again and the car ran near perfect. With the exception of a few cars, my car held it's own and then some against some impressive machinery. It's a safe bet that my car was one of the most inexpensive of the group and underpowered compared to many but with the suspension dialed in I was able to pick off more cars than expected. My SPL suspension components are working great and this was another event under my belt with the recently released SPL PRO rear camber links, rear mid links and Swift springs. There is nothing comparable on the market and I highly recommend this setup. I've been running the rear setup for about a year now and about two years on the front arms with flawless operation all around.

The videos are rather large files and I should upload them to google or youtube, but here they are for those of you with broadband.

The beginning of this one is my favorite. Was happy to get past the white M3 and need to get some more info on it as far as mods go. It sounded sick! We were pretty even in the turns, I might have had a slight advantage. He outpowered me on the straights but I would reel him in in the braking zones.

One unlucky individual sustained some major damage to his fairly new 911. He lost it on the entrance to the infield straight. He hit the wall hard enough for us to feel the impact and hear it back in the garages. He wasn't hurt though, just the car.

Anyone in Texas or nearby needs to attend this event. Running this track under the lights and in the dark infield is such a rush. You'll need to get solo'd with the Drivers Edge though or be able to prove prior track experience.

Yeah, it was on the car when I purchased it.
I recently removed it and replaced it with a C-West wing. Can now take Turn 1 at TWS flat out and wait till turn 2 for braking.
