Who's Volks? You mean the ones being used by teams in real racing series like JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Car Championship), JTCC (Japan Touring Car Championship), BTCC (British Touring Car Championship), Formula 3000, and Formula 1 maybe? no?
(shrugs)
Besides, don't misunderstand my offense. I don't care they are 'weaker', I care that people call them Rotas when what they are, is knocked off designs from other manufacturers. That is really my only gripe.
Whenever someone mentions them being 'rotas' they should say "man, I really like the Volk TE37 rims that Rota knocked off".
Not explicitly quoting it this way is akin to plagiarism in a research paper.

and what are you driving on? If your not driving on them whats the point of your arguement? those time attack subaru's seem to be putting those rota's through a hefty amount of stress...more so than 99% of the people on this site will ever put their Rays/Volks through.
I disagree to be honest. longevity is not a concern in racing series, nor are there expansion joints and potholes on a race course.
Volk and Advan designed their rims well enough in the first place that even a knockoff using inferior production methods and materials would be fine. I mean, they aren't an untested spoke design afterall, but designs from established companies with RnD budgets and real-world racing and street experience/feedback. So yes, thank god Ray's knew how to design a wheel in the first place
Let's face it, pouring hot aluminum into a mold isn't rocket science (ok, now I'm just being catty).
but let's not derail this thread with rehashed arguments that have already been made. I made my only point I wanted to.
*also: I 'used' to rock the VALKS (did I spell that right?) myself, but not anymore. Now I rock some Deep Vees w 700/23 tires. yeah beetches.
