Default The 'I'm sick of CF dashes' dash

yup, woodgrain. have done them before but never had a picture back from the customer. So here is a "before we send it out, never to have a picture of it installed" picture. Before you knock having wood in a car like this, remember even Ferrari used wood dashes in his cars. I know because I have restored a couple. Jag, Aston Martin, they all do it or have done it. I like it for a change.

Agreed! For some reason I think the Z would look HORRID with "wood style" dash. The Z has to much of a metal look to it, metallic silver and what not, just doesn't look like it would flow well. Maybe in a G35 yeah but 350z... NAH! overall the process you guys did looks good though

is it someone from the forums?

The Ferrari's had a low end straight grain walnut and not finished to any high degree. Pretty bad actually, so it was easy to show an improvement to the customer. He was much better with engines. Jags early on used shellac which had to be renewed periodically, then lacquer and then in the late sixties the move to polyester. All were high gloss, or meant to be. Until Ford forced an improvement, they were horrendously bad. The wood would turn green and crack sitting on the dealer lot.
No, nobody on the forum.

Agreed!

But, I also agree with the person that said woodgrain just isn't for the Z. Maybe the g35c, but the Z is just screaming sports car, not sport luxury. CF is a much better fit on the Z.

Wow, more power to that owner for being different. Nice work, regardless.

Lol...Not even on a Nokia phone. I like the craftsman ship I too feel that it is in vain because it takes away from the raw sports car the 350 is. I mean this car has terribly loud road noise, its like riding in a glovebox. And then you ad wood grain...yeah not gonna cut it

What do they charge for CF kits? Do they have a site?

Thanks,

Default Vent covers (Aluminum)

I made Aluminum matte finished vent covers. I think it really added a little more sporty look to a rather plain dash. What do you guys think of them?

hehehe I'll put that dash in my Z once the 22 inch spinners, chrome wheel arches, and RollsRoyce emblem are done being installed on my Z.

I'm thinking about getting a weave... or .. maybe just a jery-curl.

gotta run... one of my hoes' looks like she is on strike
