Default OEM spoiler?

is the OEM spoiler mounted by simple adhesive strips or is it actually drilled into the hatch? if its drilled...do other aftermarket manufacterers use the same mounting points? thanks.

BOTH. Mine didn't come with a spoiler, so I added the factory one. It has a piece of 3M double sided tape all the way around the spoiler, but you also need to drill 4 holes into your hatch to secure it(some say the tape isn't enough to hold it, but I didn't want to find out the hard way!) but if your car came equipped fromt he factory with the spoiler, Im sure it has the drill holes.

Not sure if these holes are used by other spoiler manufactures...
we need some input from you guys with the aftermarket spoilers here!!!

The holes I had to drill though are HUGE...2 of the 4 holes are almost the exact same size as a quarter...
Hope this helps ya RedShft

since you are going to have it painted an all, you might as well just patch the holes.
i'm glad i didn't get the factory spoiler. My trunk is holeless :P

You can use any spoiler from Japan, they will fit the holes from factory....For example ...my car came with the factory one....I replaced it with the Vielside V3 .....the holes lined up perfectly.....

Factory spoilers come pre-painted from Nissan...also most people don't have the choice, as their Z's already came from the factory with the OEM spoilers(and holes ).

glad to hear though that a lot of the aftermarket spoilers utilize the same holes as the OEM does for us that have the OEM.
