Thumbs up Legitimate Option To HID/XENON...!

Just received these in the mail yesterday from the exclusive seller on Ebay (direct ties to Asian manufacturer). I'm eventually going to do a true HID kit for my new 05' Pathfinder, until then, I decided to at least buy the highest quality "halogen-type HID-look" bulbs I could find.
Enter the MTEC 4750k Cosmos Blue (various sizes available). I didn't expect nothing more than a nicer, whiter, look than halogen.... boy was I in for a INCREDIBLE surprise!
Upon turning them on in the garage, I immediately noticed a better and brighter look over my Yukon's Sylvania Silver Stars. But when I pulled out front.... the street was illuminated like true Xenon/HID! I'm not one to over-exaggerate by any means, but guys trust me... these plug&play HID bulbs are "OFF THE CHARTS".
I'll post pics this weekend, until then, you can read up on them here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33710

By the way, the Mrs. and I are L O V I N G the new Pathfinder!

Looks like they are just higher wattage bulbs. be carefull not to fry your harnesses. Also, they probably are short lived bulbs, but you are most like used to that if you already have silver stars on a vehicle.

I laugh about the silver stars. A friend of a friend has gone through over $300 worth of silver stars on his mazda6 since October.

If you read carefully sir, then you will see that they operate at "stock" wattages yet claim to produce a higher wattage effect. I'm very knowledgeable about lighting, wattage, ballasts, wiring, etc and of course... I don't expect the WORLD of these bulbs... I am simply stating my "opinion" thus far and an alternative lighting source. And for the record... Only 1 of the Silverstars has gone out on the Yukon in over 2 years which could happen to any OEM bulb.

I wasn't trying to be an ******* and for your information, nowhere in your post does it STOCK WATTAGE, and no I didn't and don't care to click on the link to evay. I merely stated they look to be higher wattage and be careful not to fry your harnesses, but if you want to take that as me having an attitude, go right ahead. In addition, I didn't say silverstars aren't good, just that they don't last very long and included a first hand experience that had with them. Peace?

my friend has these in his g35... they look nice, and are slightly brighter than OEM, but it can't approach HID brightness/color imo

Again with this stuff? You always buy such weird "marketed" products that look like they are supposed to perform but dont.

Look at the image, it states "100W" .. have you even put them on a test bench to see how many amps they draw? Have you tested them with a light meter to see how many lumens the bulb emits? Besides, the image shown is 9006 and the Z (both HID-spec and halogen-spec) dont use that. They use H7 or H1, depending on whether its high or low and which version headlamp.

Those bulbs are style bulbs, they are not brighter they just appear to be higher in the kelvin temp range, thats all. They arent even made by a name brand mfg, so chances are the company knows dilz about lighting.

Hella sells various types of bulbs, some are style bulbs, some are functional -- it all depends on what you want to do. We sell high output bulbs that emit just as much light as 100W overwattage bulbs, and yet.. they only draw 55W. These bulbs dont have any fancy filters or coatings, they just are better quality bulbs -- simple as that.

Anyway, enjoy your style bulbs. It just bugs me when I see companies advertise rubbish as "MTEC Racing Halogen Bulbs" -- yeah okay, race on.

Always glad to hear from the "Master of Lighting"

Dude, does my post sound like a infommercial or a sales pitch? No.
It is FYI and I like "most people" like to hear of new things! Whether they like, want, buy it or not, is strictly decisive.

I can't believe people are giving TXSTYLE a hard time. He is a respected member--all he is trying to do is show us something that he tried out, and worked well. Assuming they last a long time, I see nothing wrong with this.

Actually it does sound like an informecial. I thought that before you even posted that. BTW MTEC is a POS bulb dude. Believe me, I have tried EVERY FREAKING BULB OUT THERE. ( I sell this stuff). From Piaa, Nokya, Raybrig, Matrix, MTEC, Litech, etc.. You name it I have tried them all. The only ones that are true quality are Luminics. These come with a 1 year warranty no if's and's or buts. Their light output beats any HALOGEN including PIAA (second best). And the best of it all is they use a standard 55w. If you want more info visit their website.

If your interested in a set PM me. Id love to prove you wrong
BTW just a friendly comparision dont mean any harm.

Thanks Ravi for the kind words.

It's all good bro, believe me! If I were to get bent out of shape by ALL the "negativity" I read here and abroad, I'd be a poor soul.
That's why I'd like to introduce a product especially designed for such individuals....

Its not about hating, its about facts.

Most of these companies are not major bulb mfg's and have little experience when it comes to lighting technology. Products are made cheaply overseas and from there it just comes down to marketing..

If you're going to promote a product, you promote it with facts. Put it on the workbench, see how much light it produces and how much current it consumes. PERIOD. Dont waste bandwidth with opinions and guestimates.

Enjoy!

Straight ahead shot w/ flash. I love this pic cause' it shows the nice color difference between the MTECS and Halogen fogs even with a bright flash!

Thumbs up

And probably the most "telling" picture of them all....... The Garage/Wall shot! Notice the tremendous color illumination between MTEC4750k & Haolgen Fogs! As I've stated...... as close to Xenon 'color' as you can get. Key word COLOR! Nothing obviously matches HID for sheer brightness, but these are a "legitimate" option if you're on a budget. But they are pretty bright as well!

Look pretty good. Definitly an upgrade from stock! BIG color difference between your fogs and the new bulbs.

I guess its a legitimate option to HID color then....so are lots of bulbs though. All these bulsb trace back to only a few manufacturers....and the prices vary widely.
