I'm getting my tinting done on Tuesday morning. Since it's illegal to have side tint in Jersey, what % do you think I should get?

I have 35% on my Maxima and want to do 20% (all around) on my Z when it comes in. Is that too dark? I want to be able to see out the side windows at night.

Is there anyplace in NJ that does a 25 or 30%? Has anyone else gotten either of those anywhere else for that matter?

P.S. I also went to Custom Window Tinting in Union.

I'll ask my guys when I go in on Tuesday. He said I can get whatever % I want, that's why I was asking for opinions. Did you talk to the place you got your Maxima done at? I wouldn't assume there'd be a problem with getting 20% all around.

I know the place in Union has 20, 35 or 50%. They don't seem to think 20 is too dark, but everytime I see someone elses I think it looks like it must be hard to see out of.

Anyway, let me know what you decide and how it turns out. Also see how they handle the window going up and down when they open or close the door.

Anyone have a cost on these tint places in NJ? I am thinking of getting 35 or 40% all around except for the windshield. Do they have metallic or titanium tint? I don't want a ghetto look, but i've seen some metallic tints that seem to be normal smoke with just a hint of metallic reflection. Any info would be appreciated.

metallic or titanium is illegal, i don't know if you knew that already i'd just stick to a low grade tint. as for places i'd suggest auto magic in glassboro, nj. they offer a guarantee on the tint any problems they'll replace it for free.

ppw350z.

Where are you located at in south jersey? I thought i saw a ppw driving on blk horse pike, about 2 weeks ago. How much does the dealer charge for tint in glassboro? This might have been answered in a different thread, will tint on the rear window, disable the rear defrost to work?

megatron, i'm located in deptford and you probably did see me on the black horse pike, i'm out that way quite a bit. i'm not sure how much they will charge give them a call (856) 881-8585. they'll give you a better estimate than i will. as for tint on the rear window disabling the defroster that is not so. it will work the same.

Yes, i think the shop you're referring to is Auto Image. There's also one on rt. 1 southbound in Edison, i believe.
I have a friend who had it done by Auto Image in East Brunswick, rt. 18 southbound. That's where i plan on getting mine done.
I hope it helps ZGIRL.

Since tint guys also tend to do the clear bras as well, has anyone in S Jersey had one of these guys do a good job with the clear bra? Just got my DB base yesterday and I already have a little ding on the hood.

I had my front windows done at Auto Image a few years back in my Amigo. It didn't take them that long and they seem to do a lot of high end vehicles. The tint wasn't too dark (even cops couldn't tell) and it kept the glare down. I belive it's a life time warranty also. I'll be going there in July, so I defintately recommend them.

Default Inspection

For those of you with tinted windows in Jersey, any trouble with inspection? Can you recommend a garage?

I'm considering 35% all around..

THanks

In NJ, it really depends on who you are, where you live and what you drive. I see plenty of Bimmers with front tints, a lot of people get away with front tints in New Brunswick and Perth Amboy, and I don't have to tell you about the court case(s).
