Default Nismo wing reduce dragCE? Like the Track's lip(s)?

I know if you get the track models front and rear lips you drop .1 in drag coefficient.

I was wondering if there's any data on the Nismo wing? I know it generates a ton of downforce above 80mph...just wondeing if it blows the dragCE though for top speed.

I wonder if anyone will ever come out with a taller front spoiler air dam than the factory one?

the one on the corvette is like 2-3 inches tall, the Z's is about 1 inch

Your mods list give me a stiffy.

Nice weight reduction too! Man, you need to get the carbon fiber hatch replacement, hood and air dams. And you'd be under 3000lb for sure! There not as expensive as most think too.

thanks! Unfortunately the car still has a lot of bugs I'm trying to work out. I'm basing my weight off of what nissan says the curb weight is for the track model 3225lbs, but I've heard other people say the car actually weighs more than what nissan claims?? So I dunno, but either way I've taken at least 100lbs out of the car

yeah i'd like to get a vented CF hood. Been looking at the Seibon TS hood, and getting it painted to match the body.

I've thought about a CF hatch, but I'm not sure losing tons of weight in the rear is good for the balance of the car. Maybe for drag racing it wouldn't matter so much.

I'd kill weight where ever I could and cure the loose rear issue with some massive downforce for track days. Like a real bolt on adjustable racing wing.

But hey, that's me!

If a wing reduces drag, then its not doing its job. When downforce is enhanced, so is drag. Thats what a wing is for.

So to answer your question...it does not reduce drag.

I'm not much with aerodynamics, but I think it increases drag, like nitrouz said.

usually bigger wing = more downforce = more drag

Yeah, I was wondering by how much though.

It's just curious that the little lip on the rear of the track model actually improves drag. It's obvious how the front lip does. Or maybe it's really just the front lip doing it all. I don't know, this stuff baffles me.

But from what I can see now, I want the downforce more than screaming through the air with as little resistance as possible. So I guess I know what I need to do.
