I was just browsing eBay a bit, and I saw some replacement LEDs for these, they are strips of 6-7 LEDs that just fit right into the slot. Anywho, they come in Red, Orange, White, and Blue. I was wondering, would Blue even be legal?

 

no blue is not legal; to be picky; none of them are; as they are your only "reflector" (the amber strip IN the headlight does not reflect, thus doesnt count). and law says you must have an amber reflector to the side on the front; and red to the side on the rear. youll find this on every car in existance in the US.

they dont go over; they totally replace(much better IMO) and are sold by a vendor(I think, still a vendor, not sure) on this site evo-R. hope I have that right.

to finish that first paragraph, though they are illegal; only "legal" modification you could make is keeping the stock amber reflector and placing lighting behind it that still lights up amber(white or amber leds would accomplish this task). thats the only setup that will keep you 100% legal; so if you dont do that; what ever you do do, doesnt really matter. yes; blue lights will probably gather more attention than the lack of an amber reflector... theres all the info; interpret it however you wish.

Around here amber LEDs are illegal to have on your car. Something like roadside construction vehicles or some stupid thing like that.

OMG, amber LEDs illegal? New cars (ex. Mercedes) are coming out with OEM amber LEDs built into the side mirrors. Trucks are also outfitted with red/amber LED bulbs because of reliability/safety versus incandescent bulbs.
