Default Day time running lights (canadian)

Found nothing with the search. On canadian Z33's you get stuck with little 10 watt bulbs that are on for ever, I dont like how these take way from the xenon look so I unpluged them now my highbeams are on a low beam setting all the time (except when xenons are on) its like a back up day time running light! still looking to overcome this problem does anyone know the fuse or wire to pull to turn off these low beams, thanks in advance,

Not quite sure what you mean by the high beam thing but if you took the bulbs out and its being weird, cutting a wire will probably do the same thing. You could always put a colored bulb in to tint your whole headlight if you wanted. That or just paint them black so they don't put out light...

Get a little voltage tester and turn your car on but leave all the lights off(except the running lights of course) and test which wire is live. That is the one feeding it power. You may be able to cut that but I'm not sure if you'll get the same effect with the highbeams.

Canadian Z's like mine do run the high-beams at a lower wattage during the day. In my old BMW, the fix was changing the headlight relay to the US version.

I'm not sure about the Z, but it's probably not a matter of cutting a wire. It's likely more related to the relay or some kind of control box.

I agree the colour of the DTR lights suck compared to HID... but i wouldn't disable it... drivers in Canada are USED to looking out for DTRs now... taking it out just means 5 fewer seconds for that moron driver on his/her cell phone to not notice you IMO

I wonder what an entirely BLUE bulb would look light lit up under DTR wattage (I believe it's 25% of "regular")... would it still look yellow?

there is a DTR relay.

changing the bulb to a hyperwhite wont work; they dont glow white when run at less than full power which is what DTR are.

painting them black would likely get extremely hot; plus youd have no highbeam... if that doesnt bother you; just remove the bulb.

thats just what wont work, I dont know what will
