question for those w/ webasto sunroof
Have any of you guys noticed any problems once having one of these sunroofs installed. I specifically mean if you have noticed any difference with the overall driving experience. I love the Z and the way it drives. Will this hinder any of that excitement or be a problem in the long run. If you had to do it all over again, has it been worth the money and given you the effect you hoped it would. I have a dealer less than a mile from my work and of course he says there is no problem at all in doing this, but I want some advice from the experts.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I've had two Z's ( one RIP ) and both had a sunroof installed a week after purchase because i cant go without one. I have had no issues whatsoever with them. I am a Floridian so i dont know what the meaning of windows up half of the year and even with all my windows open and the sunroof ive done 140+ with hardly any difference between a stock one. The car does not handle any differently and its a great addition which has no negative aftermath. I can take pics if you want to see how the setup is up close. Also i dont know if going to a dealer is your best bet because i was quoted by a dealer at a cost of close to $1500 when they literally would send the car up the street to the same place that did mine which only charged me $700. Check out www.classicsofttrim.com to see if they have a location near you. Grade A work and great customer service.

Not at all. Most I've had a problem with at all was in the winter one or two times the sunroof had to try twice to close. If you aren't aware it auto closes upon your car shutting off which is a cool little feature. I for one have a TT so it's a little weird walking away from the car with the sunroof still open when I have 3-4 minutes on the turbo timer left but it never fails to close. In these instance it reacted as if something were blocking its path and retracted. Just like most windows it has a built in feature that when there is resistant ( e.g. your hand is in the way of it closing ) it retracts. Child proof if you will. But other than that I've had no problems. I love it. And YES it would look good on your redline lol.
Nope for the Z your basically stuck with one specific model by webasto due to our small roof so obviously we are inelidgeable for one that retracts into the roof. Again I would advise looking up the company I posted above before a dealer. I don't work for them nor do I get anything out of referring them I can just attest to their work and the savings at least on my review were much greater.
Ive had one since about 3 months after I got my Z. The rubber seal squeaks against the glass some times making a creaking sound. but I haven't noticed any loss of cornering due to structural reduction.
