tint not sticking over bumps on windows
Hello, i had my 350z tinted last week (its the first car i've ever had tinted) and i noticed a few days later that on the two little windows and the rear window the tint doesn't seem to be sticking over the little bumps. I am wondering if this is normal with the 350z or should i take it back and get it redone. Here are a couple of pics to try to show what I am talking about. You can see how the tint not sticking creates a white line around the window. I can press on the tint on top of the little bumps with my finger and it will stick for a few seconds then come off again.
Those bumps are normal -- i just got my Z tinted also. The place that did the tint told me to come back in about 30days and they would take care of the white outline once the tint finishes curing.
I would see if you could take ur Z back to the place that tinted your windows and have them finish what they started.
BTW, how much did you pay for your tint??
I paid 200... 5% rear windows and 15% on the driver and passenger windows

thanks for your reply, i'll give the tint place a call during the week.

173$ 20& all around...lifetime warranty
but the thing with our car is that there is a feature that automatically moves the windows up and down to air tight lock the car. in order for the tints to cure correctly you should nto move the windows for like 2 days or so. i have really MINOR bumps that i can't really see becasue of this feature. i called nissan and theres no wayt to turn it off unless you open the door, disconnect the battery, then close the door but then your windows will be slightly lowered. the bumps are not noticable on my car unless u look for them so i dont mind.

You cant tint over the black dots. Well, you can but the film won't stick and it'll start to bubble. If you ask me, the shop did a pretty good job. If you want to cover it up, the best way to go is to get black vinyl and tape over it yourself.
Yeah. 05 Stangs have this problem bodly. Come of them sand down the dots and then tint it with no problems. OR, a peice of black vinyl over the top part of the windsheild works also - its not noticable from outside and matches the darker tint.
When the local tint shop did my parents Durango they used Elmers glue on the part with the little bumps. Worked really good, totally clear and it sticks just like the rest of it.

When I had mine done, they said to roll the back of your thumb against the tint to push it back against the dots. I didn't bother though and my tint looks great.
But like someone said, the auto-rolldown of the windows can cause the tip of your windows to bubble. Keep an eye out for that. I have some VERY minor imperfections from this.
