I have a 2004 Touring Roadster. I am interesting in upgrading to a rear view mirror with the built in compass.

Has anyone done this?

I imagine I have to pry off the old mirror and glue the new one on.

Are all the wires there? Does the OEM plug on the wiring harness fit the new mirror?

If anyone has done this, I would like to hear from you.

 

Can anyone even comment on if the connector is the same.

Aus spec cars dont get the auto-dipping mirror, rather just a cheap nasty plastic one

saw the compass mirror available for sale on courtesyparts. The install instructions look like its a job for an auto elec

just want to know if it will physically attach to the windscreen as the bracket of the compass mirror looks different to the stock mirror

 

Just get one of those add on compass things from target.

 

Any input on this? And I refuse to put anything from target in my Z. ^_~

 

No need to sink to Target, the mirror with dimming, homelink, and a compass is a genuine Nissan part. I am just looking on info about the installation.

I really can't believe that Nissan would skip the compass feature. How much could that possibly add to the price? $5 ?

 

Hi guys... well I had mine installed by the dealership .... I know I should have done it myself but I wanted it warranted by them. I purchased it from courtesy nissan in Texas. The wiring is all the same... the mirror came with good instructions.... the hard part is from what I am told is calibrating the compass once installed ... if not done correctly can be a real pain! The dealer charged me 170.00 to install.... Outragous I know but peace of mind fro me.
