Default Reflector Strip

I saw a thread a while ago about someone that had painted the amber strip in their headlight so that it was silver but it still glowed amber when it was lit. Anyone know what kind of paint i would need to for that. I wanna open up the light this weekend and am trying to get everything i need before then.

Thanks

you could try some translucent silver paint, but generally if you can see amber through the paint when its lit; youd see it when its not lit too... might mask it somewhat but its impossible to have both ways, the more you mask the less light youll get when its lit.

Mirra-chrome paint will do the trick. That's what I use.

Hey boogiemyke
That is exactly what I want to do to my Z's headlight reflectors...but $150 for the paint is kind of steep. do they sell less then 8oz? Do you know if you can buy clear JDM reflectors (for inside the headlight not the bumper ones)?? I tried doing a search, but couldn't find a good link. thanks

no, because Japanese Zs have amber too; all Zs have amber; there is no white replacement strips other than like 8 sets or so that I managed to get made and 8 lucky people have. to my knowledge those are 8 of a kind. I thought someone was getting more made through another manufacturer. I never heard anything past a test peice being made.
