Satin Finish Gas Door - PLEASE
geez zee.
You mentioned earlier in this thread that his could be brushed (Scotchbrite, for example) and then re-anodize in clear. Are you going to go this route?
Looks good..thanks for being the guiena pig.

A couple of pages-of-posts back, somebody was talking about making these. Well, if they can make them this good for less money, they sure do work cheap!

Maybe. I "brushed" the thing a little bit on the back side with ScotchBrite just to see if that would work, and it does give a nice "brushed" look.
But the door handles are more "satin" than they are "brushed"... still some thinking to do.

Your thoughts?
I thought so also but they look chrome plated, when we asked before I think the answer was chromed. If they are chromed, I don't know the fix. If they are highly polished aluminum, I would think cleaning off the clear coat and lightly (and very carefully) buffing it with a little abrasive should dull it out.

It won't be clean tomorrow... Tomorrow is the day [wife] Linda and I take granddaughter to "Tiny Dancer" (!) First things first, you know!
Cheers,

BTW, when you order, do they have in stock or have to order it?

They have to order... As I recall, they are quoting 4 to 6 weeks, but they don't put it on your charge card until they ship the product from their place to you. Not too bad.
I wonder what it would cost to get one of these JetHot coated in satin silver... They'll do an 8" muffler for $29, so I'd think that would be about right, unless they had to de-chrome it first.
If it's chrome you can lightly wet sand it with 1000 grit paper to duplicate the brushed finish, I've tried this on an old chrome bumper and it looked very simuliar, plus you do not have to clear over it.
I just ordered one from AutoAccessories4Less @ $252
I plan on getting the local paint shop to match the door handles. I'll just leave the car with him for a day so he can compare it.
