There apparently being no end to my obsessing over this thing, I am taking mine Monday to a specialty chrome shop to have them do whatever it takes to make it satin chrome. My home-grown bead blasting was OK, but I'm still looking for perfection.
I wonder what it would look like to leave the surround satin chrome and paint the actual door body color?

Is this the one you have?

Here's mine...but I have to get it painted (I also don't like chrome) and the piece has to be on the car because of the 2 exposed screws. My car is in storage for the winter so I'll have to wait!! That's why I have not posted sooner.
