the "Z" emblems from the kickplates?

Do they just take it off their own kickplates?
Can OEM kickplates be purchased?
Can these "Z" emblems be purchased separately anywhere?

Yes, you buy the kick plates - Courtesy Nissan out of Texas is my favorite place. They sell them plus all the other badges from the nose, engine, sides, and tail.

You can also find someone who is getting rid of their OEM stuff as well. Some members get rid of them since they upgraded to newer parts.

Thanks guys.......maybe I'll look and see if anyone wants to split the cost of a pair for just the emblem.

Edit: NM...I see that you can buy just the driver or passenger side.....thanks

Can someone please measure and verify how large the Z is from top to bottom? A picture with a ruler or tap measure would be great! Also, is it bigger/smaller than the Z on the rear strut bar?

Haven't actually measured it.....but it's the same "Z" logo that is on the strut bar and on the kick plates...it just fits over the holes left by the rear hamburger logo. I was able to purchase just one kickplate from performance nissan, snap it off the kcikplate, then got some 3m double-sided tape from a local auto store and applied it to the rear. I love the look.

Wow, that looks really good. I don't like the look with ALL of the emblems gone, but that looks really really nice.

Thanks guys! Just wanted confirmation before I purchased the sills. I may try to get a used set from some guy locally--if not, I will just purchase a new on from Performance.

oaktown2000: what did you use to attach the emblem? Emblem glue? 3M tape? Can you also describe the process you used (if there's anything special...)?

Went to the local auto store and got 3m double sided tape....the tape will look grey and have red peel-aways on it . I just used goo-gone, dental floss, hair dryer, and my finger to remove the old badges/tape residue. Then I laid out 4-5 strips of the 3m side by side with the top side peeled. Laid down the Z emblem on the tape. Took a razor and trimmed around the Z. Wiped the area of the trunk with alcohol....removed the back peel...applied to the car.

Took like 30 minutes for the whole process. Very ease to do. Just be careful when removing the Z from the kickplate...I came very close to snapping mine in half.

I have the 3M tape with the red backing...I don't have it in front of me though, but I thought it was thick? Was that a problem? Also, the tape I have is like 1" wide or so (just to verify if you have the same one...)

Also, oaktown2000, your smoked tail lights look very glossy (especially the driver's side). Did you do overlays or did you spray them? Either way, your ride looks good from the back.

Yeah....it sounds like the same tape I had. Once it's on the car and pressed on for a little bit....it isn't too thick. It looks perfect to me.

The lights are just overlays....one side looks brighter cause the sun was on that side and hitting it directly.
