Default tail-lights from clearcorners.com

The '06 roadster I saw last month had stock LED's so figure you could replace them for the same cost as the '05 tail light assembly. Clearcorners is very proud of their work - could be hand made one at a time.

I agree...why not just wait for the parts for the 06 to come out?

the clearcorners' ones look much better than the '06, imo...plus more leds, i think.
if there were a place where we could get those done and have a guaranteed good job for a cheaper price, everybody would have them

You saw a '06 Z roadster? What about the coupe? Any info out on the '06's?

I'm sure that the 06 coupe and roadster would source the same tail lamps. Financially it would be a logical choice for nissan to do so.

As far as the price of the clearcorners tail lamps... I agree that they are way too much. I'm sure they are selling them. I think they would sell ALLOT more if they weren't that much. If they were around 400.. I'd have a pair. Unless thier prices come down, I'll just purchase the 06 tail lights for my 03.

mdracer, they might sell alot more, but this is very tedious work. The prices are very reasonable, you just have to do LED work to understand the kind of work that goes into their products.

I understand that its tedious work I've playey with LEDs in the past. Sounds to me like they need to make thier process of mfg. more efficient, so they can reduce thier costs and pass that on to the consumer. Like I said .. they look great, and probibly have very good craftmanship. I'll never purchase them at the price point they are at.

You do understand that the `06 Z uses like, 10-12 LEDs per tail light? Thats far from being impressive, if you ask me.

True.. and I agree with you there as well. But I am sure that they will fall into a price range I can justify for a part that is only cosmetic.

Leave it to the owner of clearcorners.com to be unimpressed with stock lighting

Yea, i have been eyeing the clear corner lights for a very long time, actually the first thing i wanted to do to my car when i got it in 03 and yet still havnt had it done mainly because i just finished paying off my car and now i actually have money to put into it. The biggest problem i had with Clear Corners back then was that if u guys looked into them, they used to have you send them your headlights and then they'd do the LED upgrade for you and send them back, and depending on location it could take up to 2 weeks, they dont give u a new set even now you still dont get a new set of headlights. But now they have core headlights at there shop that they can do the LED change over for you and you have to send your orignals HL's back to them after you recieve your LEDed HL's from them. So for those of us that dont have 2 cars its extremely helpful, they were really smart in doing that.

Honestly, the amount of work they do it is definatley worth the price, it'd cost you about 2000 bucks if you did the HLs, TL's, and side markers, but they look amazing not ricey at all, and they are warrantied too, so if they arnt sealed right they fix them for you, it wouldnt be like every honda with the angel eye lights that have the inside fog and water damage to them. If i didn't just order a my Volks i would be buying them as we speak, but i guess ill have to wait till like december, unless someone would like to get them for me, cuz that'd be amazing too, cuz i really wan them and i really need to make more money ha ha.

well uhhh being DOT approved is priceless. specially when your talking about your brake lights...

it might be 10-12 LEDs; but their obviously pretty bright LEDs; luxeons most likely as I believe thats what is used in the infiniti tail lights.

as for price. good question. the current tails are 300 each. but I believe the G35 tails are like 1000 each... that seems high lol so no gaurentees. but thats the price I came up with when I was looking around... maybe it was wrong.

well; thats stealership prices for ya. it did seem unbelievably high... the headlights are only 1400 and that includes HID ballasts. Id assume 20leds to cost less than HID ballasts. but who knows.

Exactly. Why should me or anyone be impressed with the Z's stock lights?

Why should I be impressed with the OEM tail lights which are barely visible?
Why should I be impressed with the `06 tail lights which are a poor design and just copy every NISSAN/INFINITI LED tail light, they lack originality if you ask me.

Then again, I absolutely love the new 6-series BMW tail lights.
