Seibon Hood - What is needed? How hard is fitting it?
I just called Z-1 I am going to order Seibon TS or VT hood (not decided yet) and Adam told me it doesn't come with hardware. What hardware is needed? And where can I get it? Also Adam said install took him about 4 hours to fit right...why is this? How long did it take you

If you don't paint it, it should take you about 30 minutes to take the old hood off and put the Seibon on. The stock hood has studs that go through the hinge holes and attach with nuts, where the Seibon hood has threaded holes and bolts that screw in. Mine came with the bolts, and in my eyes, that qualifies as "hardware". The bolts were actually used to hold the wooden braces used for shipping on so you had a safe way to put the hood up on it's edge. I think you'll be fine.
As for fitment, I had to do some minor bending of the hinges, but it was minor and the hood fits perfectly. I'm not even using hood pins at this time because the hood latch locks just like stock (in some earlier models, the metal loop in the hood was a tad short, so it was always under stress).
I actually removed the old hood and installed this by myself. It's that easy.

How does the water effect the interior of the engine compartment?
Does the underside have paths for the water to run off or does it go straght down onto the engine, CAI etc?
thanks

Honestly, my car will probably never see much rain anyway, so it's a non-issue for me.

the water in the vents is fine...........
with the MR2's i had the rain shield removed so i could better air flow out of the engine, and never had a problem... and the were driven year round- rain/sleet/snow... and even in a torrential downpour, i never had a problem starting up the car, and once it is moving the air flows out of the vents (same with the seibon hood) so water won't run down there. But i would wash it normal, and yes the engine would get very wet, but as long as everything is tight in there, you won't get enough water in there to cause a problem. as stated above, to do any real damage you have to drive underwater more or less.
kcobean-- you car is just bada$$.... i just wish the foglights on that bumper were different, they make it look like a celica... (not flaming at all, just personal opinon)

Thanks for the info guys...I appreciate it. I spoke with Adam at Z-1 and he told me I needed to buy my own hardware. Needless to say, not a fan of that.
