Default Install a "used" emblem?

I'm planning on taking off my "350Z" badge but re-installing it on the opposite side to say "Z33" instead. I'm assuming you take of the old adhesive first & apply a new one correct? If so, what did you use? I know that a few of you have done this so I want to know the process & materials you guys used to get this done. TIA.

People use some dbl sided tape by 3M to hold on their rear spoilers. I would think that would do the trick for a plastic emblem.

That's what I thought as well but isn't the tape thick?

Hey James, I think that Henry (Z-INCOGNITO) did something like this before... you might want to ask him about this for more info...

Yeah, sent him a PM a few days ago but he hasn't responded back which is why I'm posting now.

I beat you to it, lol. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y46...8/DSC00010.jpg
I tried it with 3M tape (use Exacto knife to cut) but it was too thick compared to the factory double sided tape that is on the emblems. I ended up buying a new set of emblems.

Hahaha! Nice! Yeah, that's exactly what I want to do except I'll have a Vertex emblem where your FairladyZ is located . I figured the 3M tape was a bit thick. So you ended up buying 2 new 350Z emblems? I was hoping to find a way to stick the old one I have so all I have to do is buy 1 new one. These emblems are not cheap at all, especially knowing I won't use most of it .

There is also some type of "emblem glue". You can buy it at an autopart store--I bought some a couple of years back. The stuff was easy to use and stuck on very well. Don't remember the name off the top of my head, but it shouldn't be difficult to locate.

Thanks. Does this glue mess up your paint? It's not like superglue is it? I want to apply something that will stick but like the OEM double-stick, can be removed if I so decide to later.

I dont THINK it messes up your paint (I used it for something else...). Just check the tube before you use it. I know is that it is VERY strong...I'll see if I can find the tube tomorrow.

Hey James,
just give the emblems to the body shop. they will (or they should have) have the adhesive(thin double sided foam tape) for emblems. or just take a long strip of the stuff from them and apply it at home.

i would strongly suggest NOT using glue.
