Default $3,500 to spend....what mods should I get on a 05 Z

Currently what I have on my 05 350Z:

Pioneer AVIC N1 DVD/NAV System - $2,600 (a must have if you can afford)
XM Radio
Undercarrige Orange LED's.

Now here's what I want to do. Since my car has barely 5,000 miles on it, I'd like to stay away from anything mechanical. I would love to have sport headers, cold air intake, new exhaust system, etc for performance, but I just don't want to on a brand new car. I'll do that down the line...unless, I can be proven that it doesn't hurt the car at all to do these things.

What all mods can I get that will make the car look really good?

Im thinking about buying rims..if so, what kind?
I'd like to get a lot of Carbon Fiber things...what all should I get?

Just list anything, that I should get...I'm new to the modding scene, so I'm not sure.

Thanks

Welcome to the world of 350Z where $3,500 doesn't really get you all that much. Get nice volk wheels/tires. $3,500 spent. lol.

Get wheels. Don't be cheap either. You have a Z and not a honda civic

3.9 final drive, good go-fast mod for the money. Also very stealth.

Put that money to rims definitely. That will probably give you the most dramatic change in appearance for the Z.

I think your best bet would be to get a nice set of Volk Racing wheels with tires. Ask some of the vendors on this board, I hear they offer some decent deals. Good luck with the Z!

... just wait and put the $$$ towards what you owe on the car (assuming that it's not paid off yet)

there are several vendors on this forum that can get them. Just go to the vendor classifieds wheel section and you will see a ton of posts for them!

Depends.

$3500 is a nice stereo system with navigation/DVD, six new speakers, a pair of subwoofers and a decent amplifier. As the bose system blows this would be my choice - but then I love my music.

$3500 will buy a nice set of wheels but the ones on mine work pretty good and also set the 35th off - waiting on the '06 to put them on the base model .

If you're looking for performance trashing the new tires is really expensive as you're still making payments on them and you're going to run out and buy new ones to pay for as well. But that said up grading your tires and swaping out the rear end's for a better gear ratio will put those ponys to the road and keep them there better. Throw in a cold air intake, a grounding kit, and test pipes and you've pretty much spent that $3500

$3500 will also buy you a really nice body kit with front, rear, and sides painted to match and installed with enough money left over for tinting and a few other minor mods.

As yours, like mine, is still brand new I would stay out of the forced air intakes. The engine control unit for the '05 hasn't been cracked as far as I know so that it reqires replacement. Stillen is selling their supercharger for the '05 for a bit more than $5000 plus 10-12 hours worth of labor for installation. I'm hoping that the turbo makers are hard at work for an '05 solution and that by the time I finish with the rest of my car the FI will be available.

Since you're focusing on appearance mods, definitely wheels. However, do your research on this site and also go to www.350zonline.com and check out the wheels and tire gallery to get some ideas. Volks are the most popular and excellent quality. Good luck!
