Lambo Doors!
What do you guys think of the lambo door kits... i been thinking about getting them, think there worth it? and does anyone know how hard they are to install?

It is not an easy install. Even the bolt on kits are pretty difficult to do. The basic install still requires the front fenders and side skirts to come off which is a fair amount of work in itself, then comes the hinges and the alignment task. Also, the fenders need to be rolled or cut on the inside where the hinges are located. If you want a more stealth look you also need to get them painted the body color of the car or they can stick out when the doors are up. I had them on my car, but just sold the kit as my wife (who is pretty small and not very strong) couldn't shut the doors from inside the car. One thing is for sure, they grab a lot of attention!!!

Check signature for pics. The shop that did my doors said the hardest part of the install was removing the bumper and fenders. Minor inner fender shaving is required but no biggie. Best attention mod by far!!!

Honestly..
I think they look tacky, and not something an import should rock. Not only that, you have to always be aware of how your shutting the door, the angle at which it comes down..the simple task of shuttin ur doors now hows steps involved... not to mention the window lip.

And yes, with the VDI kits, you have to open the door before lifting it. But if you can't handle two steps as opposed to one, you're probably driving an automatic
(I'm just playing with ya!) You could get the GTF doors that open basically straight up and have different panels that clear the A-pillar. Additionally, with the VDI kits, you don't have to lift the doors, you can just open them outward...Keeps it down to just one step for those who have problems with multiple step processes!!! (Again, I'm just playing )Lastly, what window lip? All kits close like stock, so closing/sealing is not an issue.

You can still open them normally this far: Horizontal Limit

....And you can lift them, if you want to (but it is not automatic and you do not need to lift them to enter or exit your car) :Door in up position

I think they have a definite "Wow!" factor and look bad azz but I just can't see spending all that money on them when you can only see them when you're getting in and out of your car.

1. Which kit did you buy?
2. When open up, how is it work? is it go out then up right away? or out then up then out then all the way up?
3. How is the strut shock? is it strong?

I saw these vertical doors a few weeks ago on a fugly custom-painted green honda civic in Westwood, CA. Not cool. But chicks were still all over the car. Literally.
I also have seen the verti doors on the Z at the Santa Barbara meet. Looks very hot... definitely not tacky looking at all.
Still, don't get them unless you LOVE attention...
