Default LED disaster!

I put some LEDS from autolumination into the parking lights...after about a month some of the glue from the base oozed out onto the bottom reflector

I am trying to find a way to get the glue out. I need some type of angled tweezer b/c the glue has become a solid-like gel so I think I can just remove it.

anybody have any suggestions?

thanks

I hate to be the one to tell you this... but you're going to have to take the headlight apart to get that stuff out. There are a few write ups in this forum on how to do it. You need to bake the headlight in the oven to get it done. It sounds harder than it is. I did it to mine with no problems. Best of luck.

and, even after disassembling the lamp.. you'll need to be extremely careful when removing the adhesive as it may dullen or even remove part of the plastic chrome coating -- its very sensative.

pictures? glue doesnt ussually ooze unless their using hot glue lol. they ussually have decent quality. kinda suprising that this would happen.

if your feeling sporty; open it up and black it out... otherwise; reach in with some tweezers and grab it; shouldnt be so far from the socket. you can get some fancy tweezers at a science supply store, sewing store, probably even one thatd work at walmart.

just a few options. might lose some of the chrome finish; its just vacumformed on; very thin. its a risk. so either life with it or try and remove it. if it turns out horrible; open it and paint it.

its actually close enough to where I can almost get my finger in there. I am kind of worried about removing the reflector material. I might take some pics, but its a clear like glue. I e-mailed the company & they told me that I can't use these next to headlights. I'm kind of OCD when it comes to my car, nobody else can see it, but everytime I look into the headlights I see it

well you can poke it a bit... see if it just pops off no problem. but that is a risk you'd be taking. might pop off with the chrome surface.
