Default Rolling Fenders ... What Does This Mean ... ?

I was looking at buying a Vertical Doors Kit for the Roadster and it says the Fenders may need to be rolled ... what does that mean exactly? Is the 'roll' permanent? ie: If I wanted to go back to factory setup will there be something off skew?

Thank you.

Rolling the fenders is their nice way of saying you will have to hack the shiZ out of them..IE CUT the fenders

what is done when they roll the fenders for bigger wheels? I saw a fender rolling tool once and it seemed like it just pushed on the inside of the fender. Does it make the fenders wider? Or does it just modify the inside of it? TIA

Rolling fender usually applies to the inner lip on the wheel well. Using the fender rolling tool it allow a little more room by pusing the inside up to allow more play and hopefully prevent the tire from rubbing. The fender doesn't get wider in a sense since there is no change to the fender but the room in the wheel well does by rolling the inside lip on the fender up.

So does this mean that there will or wont be issues going back to stock doors in the future? Will the rolled fender need to be unrolled somehow with a patch?

TIA!

That is correct, if he were doing the rear for bigger wheels, but he was referring to installing LAMBO doors. In this case the front fender inner structure has to be cut away.IMO Its a waste of money and time, and you will need to get new fenders to go completely back to stock someday.

I don't have first hand knowledge on the vertical door kits, but I would suspect it would require cutting of fender material as 10secapsttz mentioned and if you wanted to go back to stock you might need to buy new fenders, then paint.

Sorry to ask a OT question, I have just always wondered what was involved in the fender roll for bigger tires.
