Default 4 anybody who has preped there dash for paint!

I need to know what grit sand paper you used to sand down the texture? I am going to sand down the pice between the piller and middle dash . its the small part with vents.

Thinking about useing 220 wet sandpaper then 800 wet

thanks

or you can do what I did and save a bunch of sanding by using a spray primer/filler...its about 40 bucks a can but saves you a ton of time and elbow grease

There is an easier way to do it. Instead of sanding and risking sanding through the plastic or an uneven finish, I used something called "feather fill primer" This stuff goes on smooth and fills the texture in with a couple of coats. I did it on mine and the buildup was so minimal I am not having any fitment issue with the CF wraparound kit I am installing over it.

My paintjob looks okay but cf will look better.

Carbon is VERY hard to work with! You should start out with 180 then hit it with a fill primer, three heavy coats! Let it dry overnight then go at it with 400 then 600, if your using PPG DBU you can stop here. If your using PPG DBC go up to 800. Anything after the 180 should be wet sanded with a drop or two of dish soap and a bucket of water. After that wax and grease it and shoot it!
