It's not that hard, but be gentle and patient.
I think the best way to do it is without tools, because when I tried to use a screwdriver, it kinda scratched the plastic.
Just work your fingers between the INNER edge of the clear light housing and the opaque surrounding plastic. As you work your fingers into the crack, also start pulling down on the inner edge using a little bit of friction from your fingers. Just be slow and gentle, it will come out.
Also, if your stock dome lights have been on for more than I'd say 30 seconds, they will be really hot. So be prepared and don't burn yourself.
