3M invisible bra
My company Invisiguard installs 3M paint protection film in the SF bay area, we have done 24 350Zs, many for other forum members. Look here for pics of a couple 350Z we covered recently http://www.pbase.com/dxm/inivisiguard_01 , let me know if you have any questions!
I thought it was gods gift from what I read, then I got a chance to see it in person and learned 2 things. it must be installed properly or its crappy, get bubles in the corners and whatnot.
and number 2, doing the hood is obvious, on the front bumper the lines are at the edges, so you dont see them or notice them. but on the hood, the line is straight across the hood, looks wierd. better than a big black bra I suppose, but not as good as nothing at all. sure you can get dings, but.. I donno, always brought images of covering a couch with plastic so you dont ruin it... you cant enjoy it either.
if It were me, Id just do the bummper and let the hood be. also good places is the door edge, and behind the handle.
just my 2cents after seeing it on a car.

I have a deluxe kit from invinca-shield.
they claim it can be self installed... yeah right! The 350Z is one of the hardest to do I hear. I'll be trying to find an installer here for it in the next week or so.

A guy here in S-cali has one and doesn't look that great. I will agree with ARES. The kit for the 350z just doesn't look good, in fact it looks bad, you really see all the lines as opposed to a BMW or Ferrari. Those kits in my opinion are so much better and can not be noticed... Thumbs down for this one!
im not sure how what you mean about the "lines" being any more visible from car to car, they are made from the same material and cut in the same fashion so visible edges are more an issue of installation and how close/what angle you see the car from.
The way i see it:
I'd rather have some uniform lines on the hood/bumper than multiple random paint chips peppered all around.
I've already seen several Z's with major chips all over the front fascia. Other than my little incident, I'm sticking with it.

exactly, chips and scratches are going to stick out WAY more than the edges of the film, check out this pic of Deans to see how much the edges stick out even up close, thaks for the pic Dean!
Question for those who have not installed clear bra. What portion of the vehicles nose is taking most of the road punishment? I am thinking about an install on my black Z to arrive in spring and really don't like the line of the 3m material across the hood either. Would install without the hood make sense?
have seen these in bimmers and other high dollar vehicles and it looks really good, for some reason the 350z you see the lines of the 3mm and it is very noticiable..
LuvtheZ, it seems to be the nose plastic that the paint chips the most. I also have one small chip on the front edge of the hood. It is very dissappointing to see how easy the paint succombs.
Any piece that is angled directly at oncoming debris will be affected. The paint seems to be very brittle compared to my other cars.

Excuse me while I go change my pants. Parked it pretty damn close to that wall, I'd kill someone if I was the owner of that car and I saw it parked like that =D. A question though, how much would this cost to get done? As I live in Louisiana I'm sure prices would probably be a small bit different, but to give me an idea, as well as the other forum browsers.
