I was just wondering...i have a 05 Base Z, and just my luck I get screwed out of the Xenon/Hids that the other Z's come with. So if I was to take my Z up to my local dealership do you think that they would install the lights if I asked? Any feed back would be good.

No. You purchased a Z without them.

They would try to recommend you on replacing the WHOLE headlight since the HID equipped cars have the whole ballast and igniter attached to the headlight assembly with a different type of reflector.

ON TOP OF THAT, they'll charge you a rediculous amount for the whole setup (think upwards of 800 bucks or more) because they are, in the end, a dealership.


Your best bet is to do a search on all the aftermarket HID kits available for the base model Z. It will only cost you anywhere between 250-400 bucks for a good kit, depending on brand, quality, and temp or kelvin rating. Many base owners have installed aftermarket kits and have gotten a kelvin rating or brightness to their liking.

no i priced the install of hid kit for my 03' base at the dealership $2k is what they wanted...WTF i just laughed and said thats ok...

 

base 350Z does not come with HID.
