Some companies provide a rubber piece to keep the boot stuck in place. I remember I used that before, but I lost it after my last removal

Maybe try a little piece of rubber hose over the shifter shaft underneath the boot?

The shifter gets wider below the shift ****, so the boot will not go below a certain point. The OEM shifter does nothing to make the boot stay in place; the OEM shift know just fits nice and snug around the boot giving the appearance that it keeps it in place. (The faux aluminum on the bottom of the OEM shift **** wraps around the base of the shift **** and the top of the boot). I installed a Nismo Titanium **** which came with a hard rubber ring ("finisher) to make it look more snug. You can see from the pictures what I'm talking about. I think it looks pretty clean.

How do you like the GT-rubber? I was thinking about getting the GT-Titanium when I order my B&M short shifter.
