Default LED Problem HELP!

hey guys,
i ordered a 7440 LED lights for my rear turn signals.
and today i installed them. but for some reason,
turn signal blinks real fast.
i dont know why but when i turn on the emergency light on,
it blinks fine with normal speed.
is it somekind of fuse problem?
what do i have to do to fix it?

thanks

for leds, you will need load resistors in order for it to blink normally.

check out page 4.

All I know is that it WILL require resistors.

I have the same exact setup as you, in the front I have white LEDs and in the back I have red LEDs for the blinkers.

Mine blink really fast, but I haven't bothered with resistors because I like the sped up blinkers. You see I change lanes really fast and with the stock blinkers I would only get 1 or 2 blinks in before I was in the next lanes, so this effect is great, even though I didn't mean for it.

I recommend you read through that post that MGL posted. You will get your answers there. The type of resistor you buy will depend on wether you want to run LEDs in both the front and back.

you will need 1 resistor for every bulb. they simulate the load that a normal bulb would use. the car senses this; that hyper flash is its way of telling you a bulb is out. with an LED in there, the draw is so low it cant tell anything is there.

Hey ares. This is nothing wrong with running them in 'hyper flash mode' is there? I don't want resistors because I like the effect.

Resistor:

$9 each from AutoLumination We need the 3 ohm ones.

Installation:

One is required for each side (2) total for the whole car. These guys get hot in use so don't touch them if you've had your blinker on and keep them away from other wires and plastic. I mounted mine to a piece of the bumper framing tightly to allow it to sink some heat into it.

As posted in the thread link several posts up:

"You need a 6 ohm resistor for one bulb in the circuit - one resistor per side. If you replace both bulbs the 3 ohm resistor is used.

The six ohm resistor will draw 2 watts, the rear light bulb will draw 5 or 6 and the LED bulb in front will draw about 1 watt for a total of 8-9 watts and the sensors are happy.

The 3 ohm resistor will draw 4 watts, and the two LED bulbs will draw 2 watts for a total of 6 watts and the sensors are happy.
