Default Tint Cost

Thinking about getting my windows tinted and was wondering what % everyone has and how much they paid for it.

I got quoted at $180 at a good shop near me, I had my last car done there and it was great, they offer lifetime warranty too. It was for every window but the windshield, and it was the same price no matter what % I wanted. If I do it, Im going 5% or 20% all around.

Can shops apply tints even though they are illegal, say 5%?

Yes.. some will not give you a receipt for it though. Generally, they don't care because for all they know, it could be for your show car.

I got 35% all-around for $175. When you're legal they can give you a certificate that you can present to a cop if he doesn't believe you.

I'm thinking about doing 20%. I just can't bear the thought of keeping my windows(and top) up for 2-3 days after having it done. I got quoted $95 for both side windows and the tiny one on the soft top.

I had 35 on the fronts of my last car and you could see through duing the day but at night they were very dark. I actually got pulled over one night for my tint, and the cop asked me to roll the window halfway up. He shined his flashlight through it to his hand on the inside, and said "oh it looks a lot darker at night, this is pretty nice," go on get out of here. Now that I own a black car, if I choose to tint it, im going darker than that.
