Default 2006 Xenon headlights

Hello,

I am new to this forum, and a new owner of an '03 Touring. I bought the car three days ago. I have searched thru google for pics of the '06 model, but cannot seem to find any pictures that show the detail of the '06 xenon headlamps, and their key differences between the xenons I have.

So now for my question. Would anyone happen to have pictures of both styles of headlamps they could post for a side-by-side comparison?

yea, I did. They have pictures but none show detail. All their pics are showing the car, not the detail of their headlamps.

Awesome pics, thanks again.

Ok, so this may be a stupid question, but I gotta ask....If I wanted to upgrade to the '06 lights, and I already have xenon, do I still have to buy the entire headlamp assembly? Or is there a cheaper route?

the design formal elements of the 03-05 headlights are better and have more intent

A friend of mine bought an 06, and to be honest I am not impressed with the 06 lights at all. The cut off isn’t that sharp, there is almost NO color, and the beam pattern isn’t as wide as I would like.

I am currently in the process of retro-fitting S2000 projectors into my lights. After color MODing the S2000 you wouldn’t believe all the color you can get. Also the S2000 has VERY sharp cutoff and one of the widest patters from a projector.

The difference between the 05 and be4 and the 06 is that the pre-06 are half reflector and half projector based, which mean less light put to the ground and no aggressive blue flicker. Not that the 06 has alot of flicker b/c there is not very much color at the cutoff, but it does have some.

Upgrading your lights to 06 is not worth $1300, either retro fit it or just deal with the lights you have!

status of your S2000 retro? I might try this one day, maybe with the TSX projectors.

it would be alot easier to retrofit after market projectors in the 06 headlight than the 05, since there would require hardly any chopping of the reflector around the lense

that beam pattern looks very nice to me, sure it doesnt have the rainbox effect of the old headlights, but it does look fuller and more even

this is prob the best pic i have of my beam pattern. My headlights are halogens (no xenon in Aus) with a philips ultinon 6000K kit, a little more rainbow effect than 06 but could be the Kelvin doing that

Statsus = Still collecting parts.

I have almost all the parts need, so I am close to getting it under way. I am not going to do the retro myself, I will be shipping every thing off to illusion lighting when I collect all the needed parts.

I was thinking about retroing into an 06 housing, but it looks to crowded, and I dont like how it looks like it has glasses on... Also I am going to use a generic projector for my high beam to give them look of the Skyline lights (dual projecters per headlamp) The highbeams will be Hallogen b/c HIDs are not ment for ON-OFF use.

I am also using a projector for High beams so I can paint the whole housing black and have no crome to it (also using a LED turn signal similar to Acree's)

I could go Bi-Xenon, but the cut off/color/beam pattern are not as good. This is also another reason I could not retro a 06 light as it is already set up for Bi-xenon and to fit another projector in there would be alot of custom fab work on a light that already cost me 1300!
