I think you would need a more complicated setup with multiple relays etc. Anybody?
I was thinking this same thing, but I have kinda of gone away from this idea because I saw it getting to complicated for me.

You lucky guys in the states!! No changes at the lightning of the car is legal in Germany. Especially LED-bulbs are not allowed.

The police will stop you immediately, if they recognise you have done any changes at the light’s.

But I like the changes you are working out.

Would it be fairly easy to modify however you have your's set up so that the entire board would just blink all at once like a normal bulb would?

If you just want the whole thing to blink at once (which is what I plan to do) then it makes it pretty strait forward.

That is the easiest thing in the world. And yes, that will be an option in the group buy I plan on putting together. It will reduce the price a good amount.

Yes I will be selling them, and price will be set in a couple of months. When the group buy starts, I will most definitely put a link in this thread.
As far as the "night rider" effect, this would be impossible to do as a "plug and play" option. When the hazards are turned on, there is just a simple "on and off" signal from the electrical system. There are only 2 wires going to the turn signal, positive and ground. The turn signal would have to somehow distinguish between "turning" and hazard lights. I could rig something up between the 2 housings so that, the chip would sense when they are both on at the same time, then they do a "double time" sequence and "night rider" back and forth. But this would also significantly raise the cost.

The chip will most likely be programmable to a degree, where the user could fine tune the sequential speed. As far as flashing patterns, that would be a custom set up not available in the initial group buy.

The group buy will more than likely have 2 main options, sequential, and non-sequential. Obviously, the sequential will cost more than the non-sequential, but no where near double. I will finalize all options and prices as May approaches.

No heat sinking is required. The star they are mounted on provides enough heat dissapation. I ran them for 5 straight minutes and the temp never exceeded 72 degrees C.
