Wink Sequential Rear LED Turn Signal Retro

hey guys, i figure it's time to let the cat out of the bag. for the past month i have been working a sequential led turn signal for the rear housing. the turn portion is comprised of 56 'Luxeon' Superflux leds, and the reverse lights are made up of 3 Luxeon 3 Watt stars. these are not the crappy knock offs. each led runs at 70mA, and the stars run at a combined full amp of current. there are nine seperate segments that start in the middle and progress to the outside of the housing. i will let the video and pictures do the rest of the talking.

do take notice to the amount of light put out compared to stock. the stock housing on the right does have a 6/10 tint overlay from bluebat, so output is diminished somewhat.

here is the video. please right click, save as.

I will try to post day time pics later tomorrow.

Very nice. Oddly enough, the other day when I was behind a big rig, it had on sequential turn signal with the same clusters as yours except that the led made an arrow pattern. You ever thought of that?

Something like this: <<<<<<

actually yes, and i had a few people shoot me the idea of arrows, but i personally find that to be cheesy, and i don't believe it fits the ora of the Z

Acree, you have outdone yourself! Beautiful work!

I would really like to get reverse lights like that... How much in materials do you think you have spent? Are the Luxeon 3 Watt stars expensive? Wired in series/parallel?

I didn't know what to think before I looked at the video but, having seen it, it definitely looks good. Its very subtle, not "hey look at me". Good job!!
