You Have To Get Rid Of The Spring Under The Hood Latch. Thats Why I Got Rid Of Mine...also It Is Reccomended That You Get Hood Pins...

Becareful on putting too much pressure on the hood to try latching it. My friend did that with his Seibon hood and the cracks started to show up.

I never heard of taking out the spring on the latch to solve this problem either. Did you try lowering the latch by loosening the three bolts holding it in place?

just loosen the 3 screws on the latch itself, raise it as high as it will go (probably only a 1/4 of an inch), and screw the 3 screws back in tight. Then try closing it.

I adjusted the latch on the car to make it fit. Like they say, loosen the bolts, and pull up. I did not remove springs. I do not have hood pins, I am thinking of putting them on as at high speeds I can see the hood vibrate quite a bit.

no you don't. you have full access right there. Just look at the latch mechanism itself.

that should be all you need to do, just installed my seibon hood like a month ago, and all i had to do was just undo the 3 screws and lift it up, then tighten and close. ya and definately be careful about slamming it, i did it and cracks are there now. good luck with it all

Perhaps lower the part on the hood by using washers?

You may need to remove your strut bar in order for it to fit correctly. Anyone who says that these Seibon POS hoods fit like stock is lying.

i also am having a problem with my TS hood. I adjusted the latch When i first installed it...if i pushed down with enough pressure, The hood would shut and everything is fine.
this was months ago.
But recently i changed the battery, and when i try to shut the hood it will not latch anymore?? I checked the latch, its raised all the way up. I checked the hood and nothing looks out of the ordinary. It hooks the first hinge...but it will not latch all the way down to wear the tooth locks into the groove.

Any ideas?? why would this happen now all of a sudden? I didnt mess with the hood or anything, i just popped it like normal and now it will not shut

Your having clearance issues after a battery change I would confirm that you replaced the battery cover correctly as it might be in the way. Next remove your strut tower bar. If it still does not fit then you need to check the underside of the hood for contact marks. Scuffs or scrapes where the hood is hitting somthing and if you need to confirm it was not there prior "on user hood" I use toothpaste on what I think is hitting then lower and see if it marked the underside. If no clearance issues then I would readjust your latch as it might of lowered when tightening and if that does not work then its time to remove the latch and run pure aerolock hood pins.
