Serious Question About Bodykit???
Alrite guys....
The time has come where everyone is thinking about bodykits. I'm going to purchase a kit within the next week or so, so I can have it shipped painted and ready by March 1st which is my goal. I've already decided to go with urethane, now for you guys who have kits on a car, I have serveral question that nobody seems to know....
1. What kit does not rub that much, and what kits do, so I aviod them?
2. How much does it cost to paint a kit...roughly...Not getting a lip kit!
3. Are they worth getting or are they a pain in the ***?
4. Poly is better right, I'm willing to spend more money for a better kit, just want something nice.
5. For those who have a kit, what kit is the best on the market, that is poly?
That's it. If you can guys help me out, any response helps, cause none of my Z friends have kits, and the one that does I can't get in touch with him. Before I spend 3 gs I want to know what I'm getting myself into........

Zeus what's up.
I don't have answers to all your questions but in my experience kits are worth getting but they are also pains if the ***. My Do Luck kit would be destroyed if I drove like I did before the kit. My car is not lowered but the kit by itself is only about 4 or 5 inches off the ground so I have to enter my drive way sideways and speed bumps are avoided. My kit cost $1300 to paint but it was not prepped right and the paint started to chip right away. I think you saw it before it was fixed. Now it's painted correctly and I had a clear bra installed. Poly is much better than fiberglass because it is flexible. It can take more abuse than fiberglass. Good luck in your search. See you on the courts.

1. I have Do-Luck and it is low, very low. Right now I'm sitting about 4" to front lip of spoiler and less to the undertray. Not really designed for a daily driver.
2. The shop that did my work charges $2500 for install and paint.
3. I've heard the Nismo kit fits nice and is not too low.
Good luck!

Nismo kit is not too low, but it also depend on what suspension you use. If you take care of your car then body kit is not pain in the ***. I got a quote for front bumper/ fender/ side skirt/ rear add on for 1200... but that's a friend's shop that's why it's cheaper
I've had good and bad expriences with body kits so remember if the price sounds to good to be true, well it is, and allways allways prefit before paint. I know some have predrilled holes ready for install but before you spend big money on paint, prefit. Oh with the exception of Nismo they allways fit good, their NISSAN. Good luck and post pics. afterward.

I'm looking at fixing my car up with a bodykit also. I know a couple of friends without Z's and with Z's who have bought the kit and did the work themselves. Has anyone else done this with their Z? If so, how would you rate the difficulty of doing so?

can you have an aggressive lip kit?? its kinda hard when your front bumper is stock.. but the most.. curvy would probably be the DAMD or the Varis front lips.
Yeah I plan on adding a lip kit on to my car. I figured since I have so many other friends that have done it with no problems that it shouldn't be a problem for me. Then again I there are posts all over about cost of paint and so on and so forth. . . . . just curious if anyone else has done the work themselves!
