Default Removed rear wiper, looks great

Was easy. Hardest part was removing the hatch inside cover. THEZEDSLED said to use a plastic spatula. Came right off.

I'm **** so started Solidworks and designed a nice SS plug to fill the hole. Then sanity prevailed and I used the Home Depot sink plug instead. Painted it black. Much easier and cheaper.

When I had the hatch inside plastic cover off there was this strange thing mounted to the hatch in the center. It was a black bracket holding a black box up against the hatch. The box could be moved around a little. No wires.

Any idea what that is?

Tx

I think there is a weight back there. Can't remember what it's for right now, maybe something to do with the hatch "poping" when you hit the button??? I don't know.

Ohhhh now that you mention that. Maybe that's taken off when a spoiler is installed so that the weight is the same and the hatch works the same. Makes sense.

Wait for a nice foggy morning to go for a drive with all that condensation on the read window (talking from experience, I don't live that far away from you). As if the rear visibility was not bad to begin with..
Oh, well at least you are like 2.5 pounds lighter...

I've toyed with the idea of pulling mine off, but haven't yet.

2.5 lbs lighter, lol, I change that much depending on what I had for breakfast.

If I miss it too much it will only take an hour to put back on.

I have a nismo spoiler on my car, will this get in the way when I try to remove the rear wiper?

From my experience, the defroster doesn't do crap for moderate to heavy condensation. My car is always either garaged or covered, so it's never an issue for me to have the rear wiper shaved. Hell, I never drive it in the rain, so I may as well take off the fronts along with the fluid reservoir and all... just lazy, I guess and they don't really detract from the look, anyway.

I finally did mine too recently. The hardest thing was finding the plug, went to 3 Home Depots, and finally found one at Loew's. Ofcourse they were sold out of them the day I needed one.
