didnt mean to bring up an old thread. but if i started a new one and asked, i'd get flamed to death.

I just wanted to know the size of the hole when the wiper is removed. Just so i can get a cap for it.

did this awhile back and theres no doubt it looks sharp...

Sure is cheap but you thank yourself everytime you run a wash cloth down that side of the rear-window.

I loved the look of it too...did the mod today. I used PPW touch-up paint but, as always, it didn't paint match perfectly...it's close enough. Looks SOOOOO much better without that useless wiper now!!

Ok, forgive me for resurrecting this as my first thread but......
Can someone inform me of the website or any info for "motoring"? is it the 310 motoring or are you talking about another one?
Thanks and Hi...lol

Nevermind, I found it. First post and I make myself look like an unresourceful bastard. Thanks Google!

apparently Spiralfunk is AWOL, so I wouldn't bother.

You can buy the plug at sears or home depo. it's a Nylon plug in the hardware isle.

You could take it to a bodyshop and have them paint it, probably wouldn't be much at all.

Did this several months ago when I was getting my Stillen wing painted. Something I did a little different is, I noticed the head of the plug doesn't have to be as large as it is to cover the hole. I used a washer to trace a line that was 1/4 inch smaller in diameter than the head of the plug and then trimmed and sanded it dowm to the line. Didn't use the foam washer. Instead I applied silicon sealant under the head before tightening it down, carefully wiped away any squeeze out and was done.

I got one from him a couple weeks ago. Man it sure does clean up the back end of the car. Paint looks great and matches perfect.

ok, looks like dead end #2 for these. Does anyone else know of anyone doing this. I am all about convenience I want one that is already painted as opposed to going to Home Depot and trying to find someone willing to paint the lil piece.

Hey not to wake up a dead thread or anything but.... I just finished mine

Well actually I kind of perfected mine lol. I wanted to get one from spiral funk but since he kind of bailed out on the wiper plug scene, I had to make my own. I made about 5 of these before I finally liked it.

this is one of the best threads depicting how to remove and all..

Just more info:
The hole for the rear wiper = .952 inches done with my digital calipers.

There are many plugs out there.
Hillman Nylon 881284 (lowes) 7/8"
Faucet hole covers (home depot or lowes) - these are kinda big - usually 1.75 inch.

oh, and while the aft plastic interior is off.

The hanging dead weight in the center of the hatch can be removed.
It weighs 2.48 lbs. (done with my digital scale)
