Exclamation 350Z Fog lights

Well, to me is kinda weird seeing new cars without fog lights, and it sucks to have a car this expensive for no fog lights. I mean, I bought the Z touring and I got Bose sound system but no fog lights??

The Xterra has fog lights, maxima has fog lights, crap!! even altimas have fog lights!!

I WANT FOG LIGHTS TOO!!!

There is other people like me that find fog lights important or "cool", like this guy.

Hmmmmm, in second thought, maybe I don't want fog lights!!

I have had cars in the past with fog lights and have driven them in foggy conditions (Monterey, Seaside, SF) and I don't really notice a big benifit.

Also, if people want so many things on their Z, the cost would increase. The Z is fine the way it is.

io dont like them all hidden in the back. i think evor has a set.. they look good, and they blend into the stock bumper. I want the amber lights that supras and corvetes have though.. they have yellow or HID

Unlike halogen lamps, the HID low beams have a sharp horizontal cutoff similar to fog lights. Any addition of fog lights might be just for show.

Not true. The type of light, halogen/xenon has nothing to do with the cut out-thats up to the headlight housing/projector/reflector. And its a proven fact that yellow halogen light is much better for wet or foggy conditions. So a good set of yellow fog lights aimed and mounted correctly would be a benefit to Z owners even with Xenon lights. Its just that you see most people spend $40 on pep Boys $hit and they have a crappy 4 foot beam pattern.

Yeah the cut-off from the HID has nothing to do with fog lights lol. The cut-off is produced by the projector to not blind oncoming traffic. HID's don't perform too well in rainy or foggy conditions, and halogen's actually perform better because of their yellower color. Real fog lights are the yellow ones from like an IS300.

My lack of enthusiasm for yellow fog lights comes from an article by Professor Craig Bohren of Penn State University.

Im no scientist but that site and specifically that article seems to be filled with old information and opinions. I dont see any facts there. They speak of a scattering light law, but does that law stand up in real life in regards to automotive use? Bulb manufacturers have tested a wide range of colors in real life, Id trust them over some scientists opinion Many auto manufacturers use yellow bulbs for fog lights, specifically Lexus who I believe has the nicest looking/working bulbs in cars today.

To my understanding fog lights must be mounted very low to be effective. I sure could have used some driving home from Maryland to Kentucky at night in the mountains. Couldn't see more than three feet from the bumper. Scary.

I have seen a lot og fogs on Z's and NONE of them look right unless they are molded into the bumper like the Kenstyle for the G, or whatever that White Z has above... Anything else looks like crap IMO.

What front bumper is on that white Z, I might be interested in that. It looks nice, maybe a little too luxury, bute none the less.

I remember a long time ago Bat posted a pic of his car with some custom fog lights he did in the grill area. They were the only fog lights I have seen on a Z that looked good. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
