Default newb HID question

i noticed on the stock d2r bulb that there is a black shading on the inside of the tube. when the bulbs are reinstalled into the car is that sheilding suppose to face a certain direction (ie should the sheilding be to the outside of the car with the clear part towards the middle of the car etc). does it make a difference which way they go or can you just put them in any direction

found this diagram which may help point out what i am talking about:

any direction should be fine. I work with Xenon bulbs all day and can't imagine why it would make a difference.

If it's dark or smoked due to use though, then it's a good idea to rotate it so it's not on the top, but other than that you'll be fine.

the mark should be on top, the ceramic tube should be on the bottom.

If you install them wrong, you won't see anything.
